Everyone experiences acupuncture differently. Acupuncture needles are about the width of a hair and are inserted shallowly, causing a minimal amount of sensation putting in and taking out the needles. Once in place, our clients tells us they experience a sense of relief and relaxation and lasts after their session.

The short answer? Just about everything! Chinese medicine is a system of medicine that has been used in Asia to treat a broad range of disorders. It is usually more helpful for chronic issues and managing long term conditions both inside and out. Visit Conditions We Treat for more information.

We typically recommend 4-6 consistent sessions to start seeing results from treatment, but every client has different needs and responds to treatment differently. We often see an improvement in mood and energy, but still recommend further treatment to fully address the root of your condition.

We dispose of our needles after every use, nothing is reused and they are properly disposed of after every session.

Acupuncture is safe for pregnancy, in fact it’s often used to induce labor as well as manage many pregnancy symptoms. Visit our Conditions We Treat page for more information.

During our New Client Special, we’ll have intake forms for you to fill out when you arrive. Then we’ll have you sit down with Dr. Kim where you’ll discuss your reason for visiting us. From there, he’ll perform the acupuncture session customized to your specific needs. It usually lasts from an hour to an hour and a half.

A common side effect with acupuncture is a light amount of bleeding after removing the needle. Less common side effects are redness, bruising, and soreness.

We recommend being sober, eating a light meal before your appointment, and dressing comfortably in loose shirts, pants or shorts, and shoes that are easy to remove. We can provide shorts for you to wear. For our facial care clients, we recommend no make up.

We are in-network for United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield, but recommend you reach out to us first about eligibility via our Contact page.

Yes, we do accept HSAs and FSAs!

Along with HSAs and FSAs, we accept debit, credit, cash, and checks.

We do offer VIP packages designed for specific concerns, as well as discounted Multi-Session packages when purchased upfront.

We can provide you with a superbill, an itemized receipt that we create for you to submit directly to your insurance for possible reimbursement. We don’t guarantee reimbursement as everyone’s insurance plan is different.

Yes, you can absolutely return to your regular daily activities after your acupuncture session, including work and exercise.

Dr. Kim always recommends a deep breathing technique he teaches his clients at their session, a deep, slow breath through the nose, into the stomach, and then a slow exhale out the mouth. We also carry herbal supplements, an easy and holistic way to continue your treatment after your session and into your daily life. Our New Client Special can take anywhere from one hour to an hour and a half depending on the treatment options Dr. Kim recommends during his assessment. After that, sessions can range from 30mins to one hour depending on the services being provided.

Of course! We have several VIP package options tailored towards specific needs, and you are free to add on additonal individual services at an extra cost.
